Msft sent me 4 copies of MS Ofc for $25. Anyone else get this offer?
On Black Friday, MSFT offered for 1 day only:
- Buy 1 old Mac MS Ofc for $125 and
- Get 1 MS Ofc 2008 when it ships and
- Get a $100 rebate
And then, w/ 2008 Ofc (Premium, I believe) they included a note that, to the best of my recollection went:
“We’re sorry for the inconvenienece, but due to a breakdown in our db, we’re including the Premium version of Mac Ofc in this mailing. If you really wanted the other option (3 copies of Mac Ofc for the home), pls let us know and we will send them to you at no additional cost AND refund you $7.95 in shipping charges to make up for the inconvenience.)
So, there you have it: 4 copies costing me $25… Pretty good, heh?
Wait, do you think that they might have done this about 300,000 times? Meaning they ‘sold’ 1.2M copies of Ofc!
Pretty impressive and look at the bottom line: They made $7.5 B on it… Whoops I meant $7.5 M on all of that, but they did get a pretty snazzy announcement, didn’t they?
